The doors have been thrown open at The Armoury on Main Street in Picton to celebrate the 4th annual Open House. Plan to attend on Wednesday, June 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to find out about the services provided by the many agencies with offices on site. There will be displays in the concourse throughout the open house and a short ceremony at 11:15 a.m. attended by local dignitaries, agency staff and volunteers.

The festivities will include presentation of the Prince Edward Community Care "Volunteer of the Year" award and a celebration of the 35th anniversary of "Hire-A-Student". Refreshments, games, and door prizes will round out the event. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

The open house is being hosted by: Human Resources Development Canada, Loyola Learning Centre, Prince Edward Learning Centre, Prince Edward Community Care for Seniors, Prince Edward Lennox & Addington Social Services, Community Living Prince Edward, Career Edge, Human Resource Centre for Students, Picton Employment Resource Centre, Heart of the County, Sears and The Wooden Spoon Lunch Bar.

This is an excellent opportunity for people in the county to find out about the services that are available. The Armoury has become an example of how community agencies can work together. All County residents are encouraged to attend the open house and share in the celebration of these community partnerships.
