Thrift Shop Reopening

The safety of our volunteers, customers and the community is of utmost importance as we plan for the reopening of Community Care’s Thrift Shop at 153 Main Street, Picton.

Reopening at 10am on Wednesday, June 3, 2020

New measures:

  • All customers are required to wear a face covering.
  • All volunteers will also wear a face covering.
  • We will limit the number of customers in the store.
  • The aisles have directional arrows; we ask that these be followed.
  • Hand sanitizer to be used upon entry; units are throughout the store as well.
  • Physical distancing must be strictly adhered to; there are markers for the cash line up.
  • Paying by tap on our NEW machine is encouraged.
  • Customers will be given new plastic bags to pack their own purchases.

Donations of good used items to Community Care’s Thrift Shop will be accepted by appointment only.  We have a secondary location where the donations must be dropped off so please don’t bring your treasures to 153 Main Street as we no longer accept things at this location.  Call the Thrift Shop at 613-476-1555 for an appointment and all the details.

Note that we have cloth face coverings available to customers for a donation of $5.00.

Our volunteers are pretty excited to welcome customers back.  We ask that everyone comes in with patience and a positive attitude.  We’re all in this together and we’ll learn together as we go.

Shop…donate…volunteer!  You help us help seniors live at home.
