Thanks to the generosity of local donors, volunteers, and partners, we’ve raised nearly $950,000 toward our $1.2 million goal to create a permanent County Seniors’ Centre at 74 King Street in Picton.

And now – it’s open!

The doors to the County seniors’ centre are welcoming older adults every day for programs, conversation, learning, and friendship. This new, fully accessible space has already become a place of connection and belonging.

As a former professional outdoor educator and now an active volunteer and participant with Community Care for Seniors, I see every day the difference this organization makes. With 35 percent of Prince Edward County residents over the age of 65—nearly double the provincial average—the need is especially great.

I’ve witnessed countless examples of what your support makes possible: genuine connection, renewed purpose, and real joy for local seniors. For me personally, at 81, the Seniors’ Centre has been life changing. After years of isolation during the pandemic, it has given me community again.
