Open Houses in the County

Over the month of June, we had four open houses across the County in honour of Seniors’ Month in Ontario. We used this opportunity to not only get out into the different communities to share what resources and supports we have to offer, but we also used this as our chance to get to know more community members. We talked with some members of the Hiller community about the different fitness classes we have to offer and how useful Chair Yoga can truly be. We also had great conversations in Athol and North Marysburgh about the importance of knowing what resources and supports we have available to seniors. At the open house held in the County Seniors’ Centre, there was lots of talk about how good the frozen Meals on Wheels can be, and not only how great the convenience of grabbing one from the freezer is, but also about how many options seniors have to choose from. These open houses across the County have been a great success and resulted in Community Care staff and board members meeting with people close to where they live. If you missed our open houses, no need to worry as we have more coming up in October for Community Support Services Month in Ontario.  Watch the Activity Calendar on our website and the Community Care Facebook page for dates and locations.
