Prince Edward Community Care for Seniors is pleased to announce a generous $2,000 donation from the Rotary Club of Picton in support of the County Seniors’ Centre.
Rick Jones, past president of the Rotary Club of Picton, presented the cheque to Community Care board member Barinder Gill.
“Rotary builds on the power of human connection and shared purpose, working together to create positive change in our community and around the world,” says Jones. “As long-time supporters of Community Care, we are pleased to support the County Seniors’ Centre in its mission to help older adults in Prince Edward County live well at home, stay active, and remain connected to their community.”
The Rotary Club of Picton raises funds through community events including the Annual Lilac Ride, golf tournament, cash calendars, waterfalls tour, and pick-your-own-berries activities. These efforts enable Rotary members to make a meaningful impact locally and globally.
“We are deeply appreciative of the Rotary Club of Picton’s generous donation to the County Seniors’ Centre campaign,” says Gill. “Their commitment to and passion for our community help ensure that local seniors have access to programs, resources, and a place to belong. The doors of the County Seniors’ Centre are now welcoming older adults every day for programs, conversation, learning, and friendship. This new, fully accessible space has already become a place of connection and belonging.”
The County Seniors’ Centre, operated by Prince Edward Community Care for Seniors, offers daily programs from fitness and recreation to arts, technology, and social activities—supporting older adults in staying independent, active, and engaged.
