Annual Bake Sale a Success

The Prince Edward Community Care for Seniors Association bake sale was a grand success. People from the county as well as friends and well wishers came to join the effort to raise funds to carry on with the work of assisting older adults to remain living in reasonable independence in a home environment. The agency is grateful for those volunteers who came forward with their baked goods and also to the many people who contributed financially with donations.

The volunteers were happy to reach the sum of over $200 from the sale of the goodies. Community Care volunteers also sold beans in bottles labelled “Friendship Soup” raising an additional $100. Wilf Durham, chair of the fundraising committee says that “this is a new addition to the fundraising initiatives that Community Care organizes each year. We were pleased to sell all of the bottles that we took to the bake sale.” Orders for the “Friendship Soup” bottles may be placed at the Community Care office by calling 476-7493.
