"Welcome to Prince Edward County and to Community Care's office" said Maureen Finnegan, chair of Community Care's board of directors on the occasion of the opening of a satellite office by The Honourable Leona Dombrowsky MPP for Prince Edward-Hastings. Finnegan said "it's very important for the seniors we serve and for other people in The County to be able to meet with the staff of our MPP and Community Care is pleased to provide space for your satellite office."

Minister Dombrowsky said that she takes her role as a representative of the people seriously and with a big riding it's important to connect with people in all parts of Hastings & Prince Edward. People are welcome to come to her constituency office to talk about challenges, problems and thoughts on any issues and she hopes the satellite office will be a touch point between the people here and their MPP.
A constituency assistant will be in the office, located in The Armoury, 206 Main Street, Picton from 9:30am to 4:00pm each Friday.
"I'm aware of all the good programs and services that Community Care offers here in Prince Edward County. I know that the board makes decisions such as this and hope that the Community Care board members see how good a fit it is to have the staff of the MPP in the office and how it can be complementary to the work of Community Care". The Minister continued, saying that "cutting a ribbon is an opportunity to thank those who have made the opening possible."
Prince Edward Community Care for Seniors has been supporting seniors to live independently at home since 1977. Services include Meals on Wheels, transportation to medical appointments, noon-time dinners for seniors, foot care, help with forms, rural route reassurance and telephone reassurance programs. The agency is partly funded by the Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care through the Local Health Integration Network and is further supported by donations and community fundraising efforts.
