Volunteer Training Session
![]() Community Care's Income Tax Volunteers (L-R): Cliff Rutter, Mary Acera, Carol Perrin, Alex Bradley (CRA), Wilma Murphy, Christine McCoy, Pauline Joicey, Glen Harrison, Lenore Kennedy, Shelley Brown (Community Care staff). These 8 volunteers collectively have over 100 years of experience as income tax volunteers. The volunteers are ready to complete Income Tax returns again this year. For over 23 years Community Care volunteers have been filling out annual returns for low income people in Prince Edward County. The eligibility criteria provided by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) specifies low income as under $20,000 single and under $25,000 married or common law. Volunteers are trained each year by the Canada Revenue Agency so that they can complete the Income Tax returns. There is no charge, but donations to Community Care are gratefully accepted. Home visits can be arranged for seniors who are shut-ins. Stop in at the Community Care office in The Armoury, 206 Main St., Picton or call 476-7493 to find out if you meet Canada Revenue Agency's eligibility criteria.
