Community Care’s Christmas Memory Tree
While enjoying a holiday night out with family and friends, take a moment to hang an ornament on The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors’ Christmas Memory Tree located at the Blumen Garden Bistro, 649 Hwy 49 in Picton.  Amongst the beautiful holiday glitter, the Memory Tree stands to collect ornaments that you can hang in a quiet moment of reflection and celebration of the life of someone you wish to remember in this season.  You are invited to make a donation to Prince Edward Community Care, choose an ornament and place it on the Memory Tree.  Your donation will help seniors live at home.  For more information, contact Community Care at 613-476-7493.

Gift Ideas at Prince Edward Community Care
This Christmas you can honour someone you love with a donation to Prince Edward Community Care for Seniors.  A Christmas card acknowledging your donation will be sent to the recipient. Drop by the office at 206 Main St., The Armoury, Picton or call 613-476-7493. 

Gift Certificates available at Prince Edward Community Care

Thrift Shop Jewellery Silent Auction - December 1 to 12th
This is a silent auction that you don’t want to miss.  Due to the generosity of donors Prince Edward Community Care’s Thrift Shop is offering a second silent auction of various jewellery items, that will be displayed at the Thrift Shop at 281 Main St., Picton.    Bidding starts Tuesday, December 1st and closes at 3:00pm sharp on Saturday, December 12th.  100% of the funds raised support programs for seniors in Prince Edward County. 

Consecon Seniors Luncheon Social celebrating Christmas - Wednesday, December 2nd
Seniors will gather for good food and conversation at the Seniors Luncheon Social in Consecon on Wednesday, December 2’nd at 12 noon.  The menu has been carefully put together by Wheel House and Occasions Catering to celebrate the Christmas Season. Enjoy homemade soup, roast turkey with dressing, gravy & cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, baby carrots, coleslaw, bread and butter, and top off the meal with Christmas pudding and coffee/tea. All this for $10.00 per person. Reserve your place by the Monday prior at 12 noon by calling 613-476-7493.    Enjoy Christmas Carols, too. Seniors are asked to bring their own soup bowl, plate, cup and cutlery. If you can’t come to the hall for this meal we will deliver it to shut-in seniors who live close to Consecon. Please make a reservation by calling 613-476-7493 (by Monday November 30th at 12 noon). If you wish to have a take-out meal please let us know when you register. The price is the same for take-out and eat in.          

Office closed from 1 to 4:30 pm - Thursday, December 3rd 
The Prince Edward Community Care office will be closed for a Christmas event on Thursday, December 3rd from 1 to 4:30 pm. 

Sophiasburgh Over 60's Club Dinner - Wednesday, December 9th
The Sophiasburgh Over 60's Club holds a monthly Dinner for Seniors in Demorestville at the Friendship United Church Hall and everyone is welcome.  The next event is Wednesday, December 9th at 12 noon. The meal is prepared by the ladies of the Demorestville Women’s Institute. The cost is $8.00 and attendance is by reservation only.  Call Peggy 613-476-3755 to reserve your place by no later than Monday at 12:00 noon. The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association arranges the after-dinner program. This month join in for a Christmas sing-a-long with Roman and Arlene Opoka. Space is limited at this dinner. Call today.

Prince Edward Community Care Holiday Office Hours
The Prince Edward Community Care office will be closed Thursday, December 24th at 12 noon and will reopen on Tuesday, December 29th at 9:00 am.  The office will be closed again on Friday, January 1st, reopening Monday, January 4th at 9:00 am. Meals on Wheels will be delivered as usual throughout the holidays.

Community Care’s Thrift Shop Holiday Hours
Prince Edward Community Care’s Thrift Shop will be closed on Friday, December 25th and Saturday, December 26th and will reopen as usual on Tuesday, December 29th at 10:00 am.  The Thrift Shop will be closed again on Friday, January 1st.
