Coming Monthly Events August 2009Office closed Monday, August 3rd The Prince Edward Community Care office will be closed Monday, August 3rd for the Civic Holiday. Meals on Wheels will be delivered as usual on this day. Picton Seniors’ Dinner - Wednesday, August 26th Prince Edward Community Care is holding a Seniors’ Dinner in Picton at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 78, on Wednesday, August 26th at 12 noon. The meal is catered by the Wooden Spoon. The guest speaker will be Joscelyn Matthewman, a nurse with the Prince Edward Family Health Team speaking about Advance Care Planning. This dinner is a great opportunity to get out and meet with your friends and neighbours. Attendance is by reservation only. The cost is $7.50. Call 613-476-7493 to reserve your place by no later than Monday at 12:00 noon. Bring your own plate, cup and cutlery. Advance Care Planning - August 27th Join in a conversation about Advance Care Planning with Joscelyn Matthewman, a nurse with the Prince Edward Family Health Team. A maximum of 10 people will meet with Joscelyn and Mary Stever, RN in the Activity Room at Prince Edward Community Care to discuss how you can plan for a day when you can’t speak for yourself. Participants will receive a 14 page booklet with information on what to consider as you prepare advanced directives or a living will. Registration is required for this free session being held on Thursday, August 27th, from 1-3 pm.
